We are independent designers who focus our energy on the commercial and functionality aspects of architecture rather than being predominantly focused on design. Every property has a "fine line" between balance of design aesthetics, functionality and over-capitalisation.
Fortunately, we at RSM Collective, understand this fine balance implicitly due to having an extensive work history in bespoke design firms as well as working in construction firms, where this balance can be tested and rationalised on each project.
Seeing this constant state of flux between design and construction equipped us with the "tools" & knowledge early in our careers to identify and rationalise value in a project.
Revell McMahon started working for prominent Architect, Herwig Hartl, on the Gold Coast of Australia in 2004. While working in this office, Revell got to learn from Herwig the importance of finding the balance between the visual elegance and value in projects.
Revell then worked in commercial architecture offices, Rice Daubney and ML Design in Queensland before turning to Design Management in 2009. In 2015. Revell started his business in New Zealand and continued to refine his craft in Home, fitout and commercial design.
Karen, our resident mother figure, has over 14 years in Drafting. She is the "go-to" for most projects and takes a lead role in documentation and consenting. Building Surveyors regularly comment on the high quality of her drawings and the level of content.
Jacob, our energetic sidekick, is fairly new to the profession with 2-3 years experience. He has an extensive cad knowledge and is always helping out where he can. Jacob has a great design brain and comes up with clever solutions.
If you have a project you are thinking of taking to the next step, please do get in contact with us.
Signing off,
Revell
